Privacy Policy
Briki'n Roll (the "App") is a Rube Goldberg-style puzzle game in which you build a contraption to roll a ball to the goal. The App is for all ages / family-friendly, shows no advertising, and does not track you. This policy explains what information the App does and does not handle.
1. Information We Collect
All information the App collects is anonymous and does not identify you personally. We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number (see Section 2).
1-a. Usage & Diagnostic Data (anonymous)
To improve the game and fix problems, the App may send the following anonymous data to our backend (a server hosted on Cloudflare):
- An anonymous in-app ID — a random identifier generated on your device. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or phone number, and it is lost if you delete the App.
- A session ID — a temporary identifier assigned each time the App launches.
- App version / build number.
- Device information — the device model identifier and OS version (e.g., "iPhone17,2 / iOS 26.5"). This does not uniquely identify a single device.
- Gameplay events and their timestamps — building a course, starting a run, reaching the goal, failing (and the type of failure), screen views, progress (courses cleared), in-app medal balance and changes, the IDs of equipped cosmetic items, and the device display language. We do not send the actual layout data of courses you create unless you post it to "Everyone's Courses" (see Sections 1-c and 2).
- Error / diagnostic information — error messages and technical logs (stack traces) when the App crashes or hits an error.
- Country code — to understand which countries players are in, our server infers an approximate country (e.g., JP / US) from the connecting IP address. We do not store the IP address itself — only the two-letter country code.
Purpose: used only to understand how the game is played, to improve it, and to find and fix bugs and crashes.
1-b. Push Notifications (only if you allow them)
We offer push notifications to let you know about new courses and announcements. If you enable notifications, the notification service OneSignal handles the push token and device information (model, OS, language) needed to deliver them. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
1-c. Posting to "Everyone's Courses" (only if you post)
The app includes "Everyone's Courses," where you can publish a course you built so other players can download it. Only when you choose to post, the following is sent to our server and made public to other players:
- The course layout data — the contents of the course you posted.
- Course title (up to 30 characters) and creator name (up to 32 characters) — both are free text that you type. Please do not enter real names, email addresses, school names, or anything else that could identify you or another person. Whatever you type is shown to other players as-is.
- Briki'n's cosmetic setup — the identifiers of the items worn at the time of posting (hat, glasses, and so on).
- The anonymous in-app ID — used to identify your own posts, prevent duplicate "likes," and process reports and blocks (the same anonymous ID as in 1-a; it is not linked to your name or any personal information).
Reporting and blocking: You can report inappropriate posts from within the app, and you can block a creator so their courses are no longer shown to you. Reported posts are reviewed by us and removed if they violate our terms.
Removing a post: If you would like a post taken down, please contact us using the details in Section 7.
1-d. Game Center (only if you use it)
We use Apple Game Center for leaderboards and achievements. Signing in to Game Center and recording scores/achievements is managed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We only submit scores and achievement progress to Game Center; we do not receive your Apple account information.
1-e. In-App Purchases (planned; currently disabled)
We may offer a paid "full unlock" in the future. Purchases and payments are processed by Apple (the App Store); we never receive payment details such as credit card numbers. This feature is disabled in the current version.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
The App does not collect personally identifiable information (PII), including:
- Name, email address, phone number, or postal address
- Contacts / address book, or calendar
- Precise location (GPS) — the App does not request location permission
- Health or fitness data
- Payment details such as credit card numbers (purchases are handled by Apple)
- The actual layout data of courses you create (normally stored only on your device; transmitted and made public only if you post it to "Everyone's Courses" — see Section 1-c)
- Browsing or search history
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or other tracking identifiers
3. How We Use Information
We use the anonymous data only to:
- Provide and improve the App
- Find and fix bugs and crashes
- Deliver notifications (if you have allowed them)
- Provide leaderboards and achievements (Game Center)
We do not use this data for advertising or sell it to anyone.
4. Photos & Recordings
The App can record your gameplay and save it to your camera roll, or let you share it via the share sheet. For this, the App may ask for permission to save to your photo library and for the microphone.
- Recordings and images are created on your device and saved to your camera roll.
- If you share, they go only to the people or apps you choose.
- We (the developer) do not receive these recordings, audio, or photos.
5. No Ads, No Tracking
- The App shows no advertising and includes no advertising SDKs.
- The App does not request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission. It does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other companies' services.
6. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies:
- Apple (App Store, Game Center, and the APNs push delivery infrastructure) — https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- OneSignal (push notification delivery) — https://onesignal.com/privacy_policy
- Cloudflare (hosting for the backend that receives the anonymous usage/diagnostic data) — https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
7. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for all ages and family use.
- We do not collect personal information such as name or email.
- We show no behavioral / targeted advertising (there is no advertising at all).
- We do not track children.
If you are a parent or guardian with any concerns, please reach us via the Contact button at the bottom of this page.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
- Anonymous usage/diagnostic data is kept only as long as needed to improve the game.
- Because this data is anonymous and not linked to an individual, we generally cannot identify data belonging to a specific person.
- Progress and save data stored on your device is removed from the device when you delete the App.
- For deletion requests or questions about your data, use the Contact button at the bottom of this page.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this policy as features change. If we make a significant change, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page.
